On the 430. Is is 603659 or is is UAM2957. Looks more like 603659 but the corresponding washer is ETC7398 and mine has the crushable washer which is part no. 213961. The head of the sump plug is about a 28mm spanner so its big.
Its leaking so going to change the plug. I will be changing the washer as I do every time.

Hi FFG, on my 4.3 I use the same sump washers as my Land Rover Defender 2.5TDi. They are the same for the V8 Range Rover 4.0. I keep a stock for my Landy which I also use for the Griff. Get them from any 4x4 outlet they are so cheap (mine are the collapsable washer type). Regards, Pete

I'm fine with the washers, as i've got some and they are part no. 231961, ie the collapsible type, its the sump plug i can't seem to find the correct part number.

Hi FFG, I have a new bagged spare sump plug for the Landy in my workshop, I am sure they are the same, as the hex head takes the same spanner (28mm) for my Griff also. I shall check tomorrow night when I am down in the workshop and if there is a number on the bag shall let you know. Regards, Pete

Hi,

I replaced mine with Steve Heath's Rover V8 magnetic sump plug, and if you take a look at the image you can see it did it's job perfectly when a bolt cam free from my oil pick-up...

I've got a spare Steve Heath magnetic plug for the 500 but it won't fit behind the exhaust (on the 430) and I'm not going to take the exhaust off to change the oil every time.

Hi FFG, had a look at my Landy spares tonight, the sump plug does not have a bag hence no number, this is a link to the Btritpart website (Land Rover Parts) and the sump plug for my Landy (note it fits the V8 and the 200Tdi) - www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms/dd/Defender--Service... . Regards, Pete

You coming up my way any time soon Paul?
I must have the old plug out of mine somewhere after changing it for the SH magnetic jobby.
If you want it give me a bit of notice and I'll have a dig.

Either that or I can give you all the measurements off it. If I'd thought of it earlier I could have popped into the LR dealer I walked past today and asked them to match it for you.

Hi FFG, the picture is definitely the same as the Land Rover Defender (and Range Rover) plug. It is the same as my spare and is available from LR suppliers, see the link in my previous message. Regards, Pete

28mm? I thought mine was 29mm. Will have to have a look when it's a bit warmer.
