recommend me some pads
Discussion
Im doing the Cosworth 888 brake upgrade soon. I've got nearly everything I need except some decent pads.
What can people recommend for road use? I can be quite heavy on the brakes and have found ferodo ds2500's good on other cars in the past but am willing to listen to any ideas. No greenstuff though please!

Hawk HP Plus.
Brilliant.
Not tried those, how do there compare with DS2500? do they need warming up for road use?Brilliant.
My experience has seen quite a few pads and none of them have lasted until i tried DS2500 which i have found very good although on my big front calipers they do need to have some heat in them now which wasn't an issue on the original 888 calipers.
Previously seen Mintex 1144 and ebc green stuff not last a single day on track (i've had pads crumble to nothing or glaze over).
If you're looking for disc options i can highly recommend black diamond grooved and vented disks
don't touch their pads tho (mine caught fire).By the time I'm up my speed humped road they're warm enough!
I use them on 330mm rotors and you can stand it on it's nose on track day's for as long as you can stay out there,m they really are a fantastic pad.
When running with Perry at T/D's, he was experimenting with different pads because of fade, the Hawks' always impressed.

I've been using Mintex 1155s and while great on track they are noisy and dirty for everyday, I'm sick of the squealing and the constant need to clean the wheels, so i'm thinking about new pads to, and according to the Jap racers in the Nippon challenge the new (ish ) EBC blue pads are very very good,I'm still running my race Impreza on Ferodo DS s but will be switching to the blues next time, i've never a been a fan of EBC but this Blue compound is suppoed to be the business on both road and track , I'm pretty sure it will be available for the ford caliper to.
