Morning All - Ground Clearance
Discussion
Anyone know the average ground clearance to the underside of the side outriggers?
A friend is putting an order into screw fix today (so unable to measure it myself tonight), and I was wondering whether to buy the bottle jack for touring. The jack has a clearance of 181mm.
Cheers

Don't know what everyone else’s thoughts are but I prefer not to jack it up by the outrigger. I can get the trolley jack or a scissor jack under the main chassis rail in most cases.
Here here - preferably with a block of wood in the way. The outriggers are stiff, but not as stiff as the main chassis rails - and if you use them you can lift both sides at once. Which is of no interest if you're just changing a tyre of course...
Bottle jack you suggested is the smaller one Im afraid.
Also trolley jack will be too big for touring.
Do you not have the standard jack? Theres only so much you can do at the oradside afterall.

DustyC,
I don't have the standard jack, just a huge 3 Ton trolley jack in the garage. You are right about the limited amount that can be done, specifically as I do not have a wheel saver either. If I can find a nice small, cheap scissor jack as Steve advised I will go for that.
That should then complete my spares and tools for the trip to Italy at the end of August.
Cheers
