Guys
As the title - what do I need to remove the four hex bolts on the front diff mounting braket?
Thanks

On my GKN diff I used a 10mm hex key socket. Don't forget to first undo the lock nuts on the diff side off the bracket - on my car I just could not shift one of the upper ones which is why I ended up cutting an access panel in the rear 'shelf'.

You do need a 10mm allen drive for the diff bolts.

To release the top locknuts with the body on I use on of these.....

Also, to aid access to the allen bolts I cut the angle bit off a long ball end allen key and insert the remaining bit into a 10mm socket.

Now you come to mention it I did something similar with the two lower screws only I think I used a 10 mm Allen key and through the gap between chassis and diff used a suitably sized spanner to turn it. I'll know soon as I'm just about to drop my diff to get it rebuilt.

I like the look of those special spanners Ant, I might have to get myself some.

I agree with Ant, these spanners are just the ticket for the rear locknuts on the front mounts, I got a cracking set off eBay for a £10. When I removed the M12 10mm hex screws from the front I supported the diff on a trolley jack, removed the two long side mount bolts, then jacked up the front of the diff slightly to give me some room, managed to get a short 10mm hex bit in a 10mm socket with slimline ratchet, just a tap with a mallet released the screws.
