It is a pre-serp , not a precat. you can see it has the cat type manifolds on.

In the Bible Steve mentions that there are 114 cars where the chassis were made and registered in 1992 and therefore did not require a cat but were sold in 1993 on an L plate or exported.

Cats or not, as it's a 93, if it's in good running order, it'll pass an MOT without cats anywaysmile. As my early 94 car did year in year outsmile

How so? 93 is not cat exempt and you will never in a month of Sundays get a non cat/pre cat TVR through a cat test scratchchin or is your guy sticking this through as as a pre cat <92 emission test? just curious really wink

I never said it was exempt, and I never said it would pass a cat test without catssmile

Cars registered before a certain date, get a cat test, if they fail they then get a non cat test....

My early 94 Griffith, had the cats removed (all of them) and passed a legitimate non cat test every year of my ownership.. (10)

No funny business it's just the way the regs work for cars registered before a certain datesmile

For example, a good friend of mine also had a 94 griff, his was not eligible for the non cat test, and therefore had to pass the cat test for an MOT...

A 93 car would certainly be eligible for a non cat test....

It has nothing to do with whether the car has cats or not....... And everything to do with passing the relevant emissions level for the date of manufacture...

This was my old car and I put it though its last MOT with a local garage who advised that as they could see no sign of a cat ever having been fitted (I think it had pre cat manifolds fitted following a conversion at some point) they would test is as a pre cat car where the emission limits are more favourable (ahem).

Sounded superb as well - miss it hugely but needs must at the time.

Ah well.........
