Just received my tyres today toyo tr1 and they say on the tyre 245 45 ZR16 94w I thought the speed rating was the Z in ZR but from what people have said on here these tyres are a W rated. So tyre gurus could you please explain to me which rating I have

Chris,
Z is rated at 150+ and is old school. W is rated up to 168 and Y 186 which are the new (about 10 years old) lettering. W is the one you want.

Tyres rated above 186mph MUST have a ZR rating, tyres rated above 149mph MAY have a ZR rating. The actual speed rating of your tyre is upto 168mph (the w) and its loading is upto 670kg (the 94).

Where's the confusion?
