Too cheap? '96 Griff

There is a Black '96 Griff on the Autotrader website for £11,995.
It appears perfect but is around a 2 hour drive from home, so I want ask the right questions before setting off. It seems to be cheap so I'm being cautious.
What things should I look out for other than the obvious HPI, history, owners?

Perhaps the rest of us are just overpricing ours?
Check out that the sellers is actually going overseas as that appears to be the main/only reason why it's up at the low price. There are a few Griffs for sale at the moment so that if you want to sell you have to be prepared to offer it at a low price - equally there's several buyers recently who look to have had really good purchases.

Although a Griff of this age tends to be priced around £17K (plenty in this months Sprint) there are a few bargins around.
These car are usually priced accordingly reasons ranging from mileage to quick sale.
There are also some priced low due to being "cat D" or perhaps having something wrong (which the owner admits to).
More often than not these cars can be a very good purchase, especially if you have an honest trustworthy seller. Mileage is not really an issue as long as the car has been looked afte and well serviced.
The same applies to Cat Ds, if it has an Auto align test certificate, it could be straighter then when it came out the factory!
For a private bargin buy, tread carefull y and I reckon a bargin Griff is possible.
They are few and far between though so when you see one act quick.

That'll explain why they aren't answering the phone then. Why keep the ad running so long? Ho Hum, It looks like I'll be back to looking at the (cheaper) Chimera's then. At least it has a bigger boot to put the "don't rush into it" girlfriend!!
I just looked at my massive archive of Griff pics.. I have to have a griff, even if it involves waiting. I went to junior school right behind the TVR garage in Blackpool walking into school the air filled with the smell of fibre glass resin and when I started college they used to test the Griff right outside our gates. I'm crazy considering anything else. Whoooorp... Whooooooooorp....Ave it!!

I'm 29 and went to Moor Park infant/junior school. Now living in Surrey. I miss the place a lot. Do you remember the smell? When I was small I remember it snowing big time. Some older kids nicked an S series rejected bonnet and 7 of us sledged down the hill on it on Devy Road golf course

Bet the acceleration was better than the real thing
