I have bought new wiper arms , new blades , the screen is in good condition, I have cleaned it until it gleams and still if I have to use them in the rain ( not often) then they make the most god-dam awful noise they behave like a 40 year old Anglia and I can omly just remember one of those.
Am I doing something wrong the blades are Bosch by the way is there some secret , apart from not taking the car out in the wet , are they all like that .

Owners of the new MINI are reporting similar problems due to the rake of the windscreen. They recommend getting PIAA silicoln wiper blades which judder less. You can get them from Motabitz.
Of course it could just be a Max Power thing, haven't tried it personally as they cost £30-40!

try rain-x,
i have seen some posts on PH that indicate it is good stuff
Rain x is great stuff. You dont even really need the wipers on at all provided the car is moving above 20 mph even in heavy rain, it just glides straight off the windscreen. Lasts quite a while between applications too. Another bonus is that bugs no longer cement themselves to the glass - much easier to clean off. I was introduced to it by our photocopier engineer who use it to clean the glass on the copiers!
