Roll bars - update please

It's been a few months, any updates on recent roll bar fittings? tiny, any progress with the hoops as this would be the most interesting for me?

Mines on hold for about 6 weeks, as I need to be in possession of my car, while I sort out a new company car.

I dropped in to see Andy yesterday to discuss it. Oh and the next round of mods too!!!

I phoned APM to discuss the rollbar he will provide. As I understand it, the difference between the APM bar and the Tower View one (the only other STRUCTURAL as opposed to cosmetic bar) is that the APM job will be welded in, the Tower View one bolts in using a clamp system. Both have to be professionally fitted, no cost is available on the APM bar as yet.

Just seen this thread on return from hols.Working with Colin and Rich at Peninsula we have now figured out how to do a 'structural' twin hoops solution.Colin is making a mock up to validate and if that goes well next steps will be fabrication and fitting (after cutting holes )

At Pistonfest,I had a look at the TVR solution on the new soft top Tuscan and it appears to me that the outboard end of each hoop is just bonded into the wheel arch.Am I correct and if so it would seem to be a cosmetic solution only.

If its of any use, my bar is the factory type. It was fitted last year at a dealer in Birmingham, which no longer exists.

Its a fantastic fit.

I actually phoned the factory to see if they had any in stock as I was running out of time before a sprint. They had one which they were about to ship out to Belgium but they gave me the guys number in Belgium and he let me have it as he was in no rush.

The bar was then delivered to B'ham and subsequently fitted to the Griff.

What I'm trying to say is, the bar is a good fit, looks well and is a factory designed one. Maybe a call to the factory (parts/racing dept) might be worth a go.

Incidentally, it cost less than £200 fitted.

Hey Quinny - why haven't you posted on this thread yet - you're slipping mate!

Didn't you mention something about your roll bar to me at the Growl - it sounded like a really good and cost effective solution to me...
