All of the Growl details will be updated here so please keep checking for additional information relating to the event.

DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY EVENT
20th anniversary of the Griffith (modern shape) - I'm sure someone will dispute this.
Also the 10th Anniversary of the Griff Growl.

DATE
Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012.

LOCATION
Ettington Chase Hotel , near Stratford-upon-Avon. See here for further details:
http://www.principal-hayley.com/venues-and-hotels/...

WEEKEND FORMAT
Friday - meet and greet from about 11:00.
Pub lunch (12 - whatever time we can get away with at the White Horse - turn left as you exit the hotel and its 200m on the left)
Evening - curry run into Stratford (to be booked - see below)

Saturday - rolling road, traders, tyre kicking, noise competitions, runs out, technical talks - tbc, general chit chat and tomfoolery. More to be added.
Evening - BBQ at the White Horse and some special real ales (to be booked - see below).

Sunday - recovery day, traders, rolling road, tyre kicking, goodbyes, wrap up around 15:00.

HOTEL BOOKING
Rates have now been agreed with the hotel are £70 per room per night, double/twin B&B and £60 per room per night, single B&B.
We have 30 additional rooms reserved for Saturday booking only and 45 rooms for 2 night stays. Once the 30 rooms for Saturday have gone then only 2 night bookings will be accepted at the agreed rate or single nights can be booked at the best available rate, assuming rooms are available.
Rooms will be released to the general public on the 27th April 2012.
To book please call 0121-712-7601 and ask for reservations, quoting "Griff Growl". Please ensure you get a booking reference. You are only RESERVING a room and not having to pay until check out so book early – you have been told. DO NOT book via the hotel web site or other booking web site as you will not get the special rates quoted above.
If anyone has to cancel please can you let me know as I can probably get the room reallocated. Any problems please let me know and I'll sort them.

CURRY - FRIDAY NIGHT
This will again be at Chutneys in Stratford-upon-Avon as the curry is top notch. The cost will be £20 which includes poppadoms (with dips), mixed starters, any main, and nan/rice and a return coach journey. Drinks are extra i'm afraid. Places are limited so please book early as this is extremely popular as anyone who has previously attended will tell you.
Coach will depart the White Horse at 19:00 prompt (so be in the pub at 18:30 to ensure you're there as you'll be buying the first round if not) and will return about 22:30 back to the White Horse which will stay open for us so we can sink a few nightcaps
(please make sure I don't have too many). Payment in advance to secure your place(s) as we have to pay the coach up front. To book please contact Paul Bennett (FFG) at paul.bennett@cevalogistics.com

BBQ - SATURDAY NIGHT
Back at The White Horse, a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The BBQ will be £10 a head to include a good spread of meat and fish, and will be payable in advance on a first come first served basis as places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. Please contact Paul Bennett (paul.bennett@cevalogistics.com) to book.
The pub serves real ale and cider as well as the usual pub drinks. We will have the famous Growl charity auction during the evening so dig deep.
BOOKING DEADLINE = 1st JUNE as I have to pay in advance.

FF, any rules?
What methods may we employ to 'make sure' you don't have too many?

Last year I enjoyed the most as I wasn't as hammered, certainly as much as the previous year - I think that was down to the quaffing of strong beers in Chequers all lunchtime thne continuing for the rest of the day, then finished off with a Cobra or 2. I think Mr Mojo was in a similar state.

I don't remember having a lie down, I have a vague recollection of nearly passing out, but at no stage did I lie down. Not me, never.

FFG has booked Velcro bottomed glasses and a special tray for you this year mate so we'll be having no little mishaps again wink

Did we manage four o'clock last year or is that this years goal ? I know we set a new record last year but no idea what time it was. May have been a little tipsy by then.

We managed a 4 on the Sat morning and a 5 on the Sunday. I vaguely recall several attempts by the manager to close the bar and it was the bar staff that said it was fine as we were all having a good laugh. Of course it could also have something to do with the amount of money that we were spending. hehe

Hi,

I will hopefully be in Stratford on Saturday 9th June in my car. If we arrive in time I would love to come and have a look at some Griffs.

Is this ok and is there safe parking as the car is very secure.

Regards

Nick

It's as safe as most hotel car parks - so pretty good. There's the added bonus of hundreds of like minded car enthusiasts keeping an eye on their P&J. Hope you make it and have a great day. biggrin

I was expecting to see rules like:

No parking on the grass banks

No Do-nuts in the car park

Klingon cloaking devices not allowed in grounds

Max power fans - not allowed

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, not sure if I made it clear although my car is usually interesting to most car enthusiasts, it is a not a TVR is there still places to park in the hotel for non TVR cars.

Morning Nick,
We did have a friend of the FFG's arrive in his Diablo as well as a hotel guest that was there in his Ferrari 328. I seriously would not imagine there being any problems with your car.
HTH mate and look forward to meeting you there. thumbup
