Many years ago I contacted Blackpool because I wanted to mount a ski rack on the roof of my Chimaera. I got put through to the bloke who, apparently, designed the roof.

He was a little surprised at the suggestion but then said 'no'. I said, why not? He said, because it won't stand the force of the wind on the skis. I laughed and said 'rubbish - I've been to scrap yards where there are two cars piled on top of a third'.

He insisted, eventually, that if I rolled the car, the roof could not hold the weight of the car and it would collapse, kiilling me.

Now I know he wasn't joking.

Sad to see one die, of course.

Even if it is a Griffith... wink

...that is one beat up car! Did the transporter run over it after it came off?

Sad to see it in such a state, bit of an undignified end.. have lowered the chest wig to half mast as mark of respect.

Apparently the lashing/chain broke when the transporter braked and the griff was catapulted off the front, over the top of the cab, so not surprising that it got fairly mangled when it hit the road on its roof! But does explain why the guy in the ad says that the wheels are ok.laugh
