Hi,

Just curious and trying to be educated on a very subjective issue. Seems to me to be the right model, nice colour body and trim but it been for sale for a while. Is the price too strong? it is from a dealer or am I missing something.

From the advert and photo's every looks fine, and priced right IMHO .... personally I don't like the after market silver/metal trim in the cab, but thats just being really picky.

It does look quite tidy - I see it does have a non std engine with "0 cc" (that's what is says in the little bit of detail in the advert) so its performance might be a bit down on expectation but other than that ...

Indeed, looks like 430 on the plenum picture? Price a bit strong? Decent trader though, Tony used to own a Griff, dunno about now.

Priced a bit strong? I don't think it is at all, for what appears to be a nice 430 pre-cat.

Looking at the engine bay its got silicone water hoses, Steve Heath bonnet holder, Magnecour HT leads and there might even be an ACT induction hose under that heatshield if the stainless clips on that and the elbow are anything to go by.

I'd say strong for this car would be £16k plus, so I understand the OPs train of thought here.

Perhaps there is no supporting documentation?

Gotcha Ian but looking at classifieds here there are similar pre cats for less £age and with less miles..Even a low mileage (29k) 500 at similar money.

But if it is `the` one then money does not matter...laugh

As Tony Gilbert is a dealer he has to provide a warranty with the car and no doubt it will have also been serviced - there could be some room for negotiation so when taken into consideration there will be a deal for someone - after all he will want to sell it. Just an observation re the price v some others (and no - I'm nothing to do with Tony Gilbert) but it does look to be tidy from the piccies and if it is a 4.3 as suggested above then could be even more worth a look.

This is Dean Hay's old Griff and it was very good when he owned it, so I'd say the price is fair. Anyone who knows Dean (he has a 4.5 Sag supersport now) will know he's a perfectionist.

Thanks Paul, yes that is my old car, its a beauty and the car was lavished extensively by me, The chassis is mint, and every thing that could be changed/updated was, I keep seeing it on the classifieds and I am stunned it hasn't sold to be honest! What do people want for God sake! It's a beaut, I might buy it myself smile
