Help! What is about to drop off?
Discussion
Either someone is winding me up or a vital component is coming adrift...
Not too long after I bought the Griff I found the first of these on the garage floor

I now have 2 more! The last one appeared on Sunday after parking up following a blast home through the Lakes.
Slight possibility that someone is sneaking in and leaving them there to wind me up or... disaster is about to strike!
Have checked everywhere I can think of, no missing screws so far as I can see. Anyone any ideas?
Its a 1995 Griff 500 (Serp).
Its running fine, nothing rattling around (yet).

Hard to say - usually found them after moving the car out of the garage...
If it is wind up its really good, they look about the same age/condition as all the other bolts and screws on the chassis!
Don't mind being wound up, but will feel a bit stupid if a wheel drops off next time I'm out

Nope, clips are all ok, (I had the same thought). Did find the one around the swirl pot had loosened and the head of the grub screw was slowly grinding away on the idler pulley bolts though! Caught that in time, but everything else looks ok.
Time for bed - keep thinking of that episode of the twilight zone where the guy on the plane saw the gremln but no-one else could...

well, spent an entertaining 90 minutes under the car today with inspection lamp, mirror on a stick, torch etc looking for loose bits. Result = no sign of missing fasteners anywhere. Have decided to wait and see if anything develops.
Quite enjoyed it though - have spotted a couple of jobs for the winter lay up!
