I was at the Ace Cafe last week and saw 7TVR Griffith in the flesh. This appears to be a modern interpretation of TVR's classic.
I am someone who spends some of my time and money improving my car to suit me. I admire and fully respect 7TVR's quality of finish and workmanship.
It's nice to know that someone has invested considerable time and money in the Marque - producing possibly the finest Griff I have ever seen.
This is what the Factory might have been producing today if they were still going. An LS powered Griffith.
Morgan have proven to be successful for years using the BMW V8 engine, therefore using a V8 from another manufacturer is realistic and a proven method of producing a British Sportcar.

I agree with Anthony,the Griff with an LS makes a great car and 7TVR has done a beautifull job with his.The car looks as good elswhere as the install itself does,a real credit to the owner and I particularly like the the look of the open mouth grille as well.

can i ask, 7TVR, what are your thoughts on a front number plate, are you going for a stick on one or??

I wondered that as well. If its stick on would it be above or below the tvr badge?

I opened the front of my Griffith a few years ago and made a bracket from aluminium to support the number plate at the bottom of the opening as shown in photo. It has worked really well.

A big thank you to Precat and all the other PH folk for all the nice comments i have received over the last couple of weeks! smile
Its taken a long time and put a serious hole in my pocket but i could not be more happy with the final result, from the specialists involved down to my mates who have ferried me around the country i've had fantastic support with the only negative experience being a non TVR carbon company!!
I know it's not everyones cup of tea so to speak and i've had a few purists turn there nose up but heh you can't please all the people all the time!
I have really enjoyed being part of this community and have made some great friends along the way and long may it continue!
I'm going to try and get the car to as many TVR related events, track days etc and really want to let as many people as possible benefit from my experiences and enjoy the car, so if you see me or bumblebee as my daughter calls her please don't be shy and come and say hello, the power from these modern day crate LS engines really has to be experienced to be believed.
As for the front numberplate it only just fell off, and can be found in my passenger footwell, but heh if you want to throw the book at me i'll take the non endorsable £40 fine Officer wink
So whats next? First get the Griff set up properly and enjoy it! But have a serious itch for either an LS powered wide body T350 GT Race car or my own interpretation of a Tuscan racer, with a view to going racing next year! all really depends on the success of my back surgery!
Motorbikes were my first love with some amazing years racing and tearing around Europe, and i never thought i'd capture that magic again!
Well pleased to say i have so long live TVR and all involved! now if only i could get the dam thing to pull third gear wheelies biggrin

This is a good solution to the problem, and along with many of the other mods you have made to your car actually works!!
I am very envious of your spanner skills and want to say it was seeing the nose of your car that inspired mine clap
I have seen first hand what your car is capable of, dispensing with a GT3 RS at some pretty serious speeds whilst spitting flames just for good measure, so keep on innovating Anthony wink

Based on the quality of finish, your Project Management skills are more than a match for my best spanner techique
I'm hope some of the quality in finish rubs off onto my Griff

Keep raising the standards of finish and inspiring other to shine also thumbup

Sorry I sit in the other camp of not liking the big open mouth, I appreciate all the engine work, and aero bits..... but front just looks wrong without the high beam lights...... Please don't take this the wrong way, as i really do appreciate all the work smile .... good effort though I'll give 8.5/10

Thanks for the ride, I was totally shocked by its performance. It has the performance and handling you expect from cars costing more than £200,000 and therefore it's an absolute performance bargain.

The finish and engine bay layout shows you were very meticulous with every minute detail from the stitching on the seats to the design of the exhaust manifolds that are neatly tucked away under the chassis.

It's a real master piece of engineering that looks & feels like a mass produced car not a modified TVR.

Thank you, i hope to be at Oulton on the 29th back permitting so would be more than happy to take you out! There is a bit more leg room now with battery and ECU relocated so even the likes of Haircutmike should fit comfortably smile

Definitely food for thought, although i think a programable ECU unit might be the best option for the car! I want to get it out on track and set up first.

Each to their own i say. You either keep it standard and salute the original design, or modify your car to be what you want it to be. Room for both I reckon.

Personally I think this car looks fantastic, the black grill really works well on the yellow too. Thats whats so good about a tvr gathering, all the variety of cars and even two same marque cars are rarely the same.

Just goes to show, if TVR were still producing the Griffith, something along these lines perhaps, it would be current today.

Heads up on the front end! The car has a 7" light upgrade so no need for the extra full beams, the pro's of this being a much improved safer night driving ability [good on long Euro trips] with the added advantage of creating more space for airflow & cooling, which when added to the vented bonnet keep the extra 200 ponies chilled.
On an aesthetic note i personally feel it complements the Griffs smooth minimalist lines and reminds me of some of the early jag and le mans cars!
I wanted to change as little as possible externally with the only two mods being the open mouth and front splitter's, as they say if it's not broke don't try and fix it! Both these mods serve a purpose with the splitter's being a removable option via just 2 screws [and a TVR part] so i can live with that!
When the car was up at S&D i had the good fortune to meet one of the original Grifff designer's and it was interesting to hear his views as i have always felt the rad positioning was a design fault at high speed creating uplift! I tracked and drove the car standard for 5 years so feel well placed to comment on the difference in drive!
As i said earlier horses for courses wink
Of to see the neuro surgeon today so fingers crossed!!
