Had a super run down to Harewood for the BARC Classic and Vintage event on Saturday, the run back was not so enjoyable. On bumpy surfaces the drivers door kept swinging open and meant driving one handed for much of the journey. Had a look today and what looked like a small stone was visible in by the lock jaws, it turned out to be magnetic so could have dropped off the mechanism somewhere. Everything alse seems to be OK, allen bolts tight and all lock/release cables/levers OK. Perhaps the lock needs changing?

Anyone know what the lock is from?

Going to Cadwell next saturday so would like to sort it before then.

Had a similar problem once. Turned out to be the cable where it locates under the whale tail by the interior door levers. It had become slightly dislodged in its holder and wasnt sitting right. Other than that not too sure sorry.

Is the outside opener rising to the full height properly?

I've had it freeze/stick before, had similar issues.

Also worth checking that the spring is in place on the mechanism. If the spring has become dislodged/snapped the weight of the mechanism/flex in the body can allow the door to open. Had this happen going round a r/bout whilst in 'spirited driving mode' against a BMW 335i - very embarrasing!!

Many thanks for all replies, All the links etc. seem to be working OK, I think the spring may be the answer as it seems a bit slack, will pull it apart tomorrow and report back.

Cheers
