I was looking to top up the oil in the diff tonight before our trip next week to France as I've had the odd drip on the floor for a while now...
When I got under there were a couple of drips at the back of the diff (lowest point) and a trail leading up to the front so I guess the front (nose) oil seal could do with replacing....
Question is, do I do it now.. or just top up and do it when I get back??.. .I'm sure its not loosing loads.....
But is it a big job to do?.. I guess the hardest part will be removing the nut from the end of the input shaft??? anyone know the torque on this nut?.. I'm guessing you can just undo it without affecting pre-load etc?
Anyone any advise?.. cheers smile

Checked it out tonight.. the level had not gone down any in 2 years so I guess its okay... I will change the oil this winter as by then it will have done about 5K miles....
Looks like there is a tiny bit coming from the front (not worth bothering about).. and a drop coming from the breather.. again, not worth bothering about...
If anything it stops the diff from rusting laugh
