Alarm replacement options?
Discussion
I need to replace the alarm. My alarm box has burnt out (don't tell the insurance company!) but the imobiliser is fine.
Have talked to Carl Baker, but he is geographically not an option.
Can anyone recommend a system? I'd like one that includes remote boot openning too.
Is it possible to DIY install an alarm system?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Ian,
Carl has been up to see us twice, once in Birmingham and once in Redditch so could be the best option. He does charge but I consider it reasonable. If you get someone esle to tinker you may end up with more problems and overall it could cost you more than doing it right first time.
He's got an important gig so won't be at the Growl for the first time in about 8 years.

Although your immobiliser is OK, to interface an alarm with it so that they work together requires a specific alarm designed to link with the immobiliser you cannot just mix and match. Unles you have electronics knowledge would strongly advise against the DIY route. Carl maybe distant but as said above he will turn out to be the best bet long term.
