Voltmeter issues ?
Discussion
Hi,
I wondered whether anyone has experienced high readings from their voltage meters ?
The gauge is currently reading +17v with the ignition circuit on , but without the engine running.
A new battery was fitted recently and an battery isolation switch fitted by a reputable TVR garage. The readings after fitting were quite normal +13/+14v.
However are a period of 6 weeks the voltage meter has started over read +15v/+17V, now off the scale.
I have checked the voltage across the battery (+13.7V and the output from the alternator with the engine running +14V).
My conclusion is that the voltmeter is knacked and probably needs replacing, however before I remove the dash is there anything else I should check ?
Cheers
