Someone did post how to do this ages ago but I cant find it, can anyone help?

Mine has worn to the point that turning the key is 50/50 so I took the hit an bought a new one....just need to fit it now.

There's a hole in the casing just below where the wiper stalk attaches where you can push in a 3mm allen key with the switch in position II (I think) and the barrel can be removed.

You can put anything down the hole just to depress the spring clip. Some don't have the hole so you need to drill it. Getting the right position to drill is easy once you have a new barrel to hand to look at.

Thanks chaps,

wasn't as easy as I was expecting, managed to get the old one out but couldn't get the new one back in.....it was bottoming out before going fully home, also had a minor panick when I managed to get the steering lock to come on with no way of getting it off again.

Finally managed to poke a screwdriver down the hole to unlatch the steering lock and also managed to get some springloaded mechanism latched out of the way.
