I noticed on the way to and from the Growl on Saturday, that the noise I have had for ages coming from my rear end... (On the GRIFF), only happens after blasting around, when the engine temp is in the 90's....
On the way back to Germany, this was even more evident after blasts at speed of ca. 140mph.
I am guessing it is either my diff needs replacing, or the LSD is scuffing due to the diff oil temperature?
Does anyone have experience or ideas on cooling the diff?

The diff is as per the Tuscan racers, and IIRC good for well over 400 bhp.
I've never heard of anyone needing extra cooling (there are of course other problems which might match your symptoms), but obviously I could be wrong.

Check the oil level. If it's low, the oil, and hence the diff will heat up more than if the level were normal.
When was the oil in the diff last changed?
Being a '96 car it may have the later BTR diff which uses 80/140LS gear oil, not EP90LS as in the earlier GKN diff.
The diff will make a noise if it is worn, you don't say what your mileage is or what sort of treatment the car has had from new. Both have a connection with the present condition of the diff.
The BTR diff in my 520 Chimaera used to boil the 80/140 on hot track days, a cooler would have been ideal, but expensive to fit. (Pump, hoses, cooler, switch etc).

The BTR diff in my 520 Chimaera used to boil the 80/140 on hot track days, a cooler would have been ideal, but expensive to fit. (Pump, hoses, cooler, switch etc).

Well, the car is currently at 48,000miles.
From new it was a company car and was well looked after. The 2nd owner had the car for 2 years and had it regularly serviced.
The last owner before me, had the car in his collection and did 4000 miles in 4 years. (2 years it was stood in his rather large garage...).
The car is basically standard, except sports exhaust, which gets the interior of the car more than hot!!! (Actually feels like an oven..) The Heater has been removed, from the cooling system, therefore only the blower works.
Now the car, is in Germany and was when the noise started back in April. (After the first drive back from the UK 830miles, av. speed 100mph+)... Now with the high ambient temps.. 32+ I wondered if this was having an effect...

Do you mean that literally?
I mean i could hear the stuff bubbleing inside the diff, oil was also coming out of the breather even after a new breather was fitted at TVR Engineering.
I also lagged the exhaust underneath the diff which improved things slightly.

.. but remember Ian, I've seen you drive, if it boils at that speed you have major problems
