If you can't locate David then try

they have a kit on offer otherwise get down to Maplins for a remote key fob and bits then build your own.

I gather it's a popular sport at the Growl, Chatsworth, etc to wave magnets at Griffs' rear ends to try to pop the boot. hehe

Carl's remote boot release is secure and reliable. thumbup

The dash button gives a positive to the solenoid.

Maplin do a simple remote kit with fob button, all you need is a live feed to the boot and the receiver with energise the solenoid when the remote is depressed! Have seen this installation recently at our local club meet, I intend to do this soon. Regards, Pete

Little bit overkill if you only want a boot opener, but I junked my Meta alarm shortly after buying the car 5 years ago, and put in an Autowatch 457rli alarm from Abacus alarms. Very small, neat, Cat 1, designed in South Africa so you know it works! Replaces that stupid touch key and the TVR fob, and has the added benefit of a built in boot popper on the key fob, so you just hit a button on the keys and it opens. Very worthwhile mod in my opinion, never had a single issue with it since I installed it.

Autowatch are good units Nick, as always many problems with alarms stem from poor install frown

Very true, its pretty hard to get the installation wrong with Autowatch alarms though. Once mine was in and working I just took it to a local alarm installer and had him check its function and installation over, for £10 he issued me with a certificate to confirm its cat1 status so I could give it to my insurers if need be. This was also good for peace of mind so I knew I hadn't cocked up anywhere. Decent upgrade for around £150 IIRC, and it also has an interesting feature where you can hook it up to optional wireless magnetic sensors, so it will also monitor your garage door etc; so the alarm will sound if anyone even opens your garage door.

Heath at X-Works actually did it for me but it's a switch behind the badge wired into the solonoid circuit so that it's live when the engine is off and the car unlocked.

Hi Alex, that's the one. It has a nice high current switching capability (12A) whereas other cheaper ones cannot handle the current. All you will need is a 12V permanent feed and earth, to a) power up the receiver and b) give power via the internal relay to energise the boot opening solenoid. Good luck, Pete
