HELP! I am broken down
Discussion
Long storey short, gone over bump and lost engine. Fuel pump not priming but tries to start, think the inertia switch has triggered, killing the fuel pump. Car is in middle of knowhere no phones or anything. Is the inertia switch the blue microswitch on side of air vent box in pass footwell? Pushing it back in does nothing?
When I turn ign part on sounds like a relay trips?
Just got real lucky with a lift from a very nice van driver, but griff can't stay where it is.
Please help.

Hi there, blue microswitch is for the heating control! Believe the cut-off switch is up behind the glove box? As a thought, do check the connectors to the fuel pump as these can dislodge and stop the fuel pump working, the fact that you hear the fuel relay working suggests a connection somewhere. Also worth checking that the relays in the footwell are all secure and in place. Hope that's of some help, Pete
Hi There
Fuel pump is working?
No,
Look under the car to see if the cable is connected to the pump!
Of course FuelPumpRelais drop out and back into the socket.
Does work the immobilizer?
No:
Disconnect the positive Pole from the battery and (wait 2 minutes)
and connect again
check all fuses in the food well.
Good LUCK TTC

Whoot! Back home, was right it was the inertia switch, to access it, drop glove box right down and its facing you. Thank you for the photo its a. Black plastic unit about 3" tall with black rubber top. Press the rubber top (which does not look like a button) and a tiny click.
I'll put a pic up tomorrow, I had broken down on a blind hairpin on a tiny bridge in the middle of a Forrest, looked stunning but worst place in world to break down.
Thanks guys.
