Sorry, don’t know how to email you direct, your advice please.

You said you were using a Red Top 20 for sprinting, and a pair in parallel for normal use. How many starts do you get on this, or do you start on an external supply ? I want to order one but am a bit concerned about the capacity, Red top 15 also looks good and it is only 100g more.

One battery is more than enough to last all day on the 520. The only thing to remember is that they do not like being left with a small drain from an alarm. They should be disconnected and put on a conditioner when not in use. i.e. when you get home.

I used the Red top 20 as two fitted in the space I had and 400 A crank was fine as the engine would be warm from the drive to the event. When the car was started in the morning it had two batteries which whizzed it over!

If you have 625 peak current then I guess it will be the RT25 at 6.1kg. RT20 is 360A and 4.9kg, RT15 400A and 5kg. That is unless The Deamon Tweeks cataloge has transposed the data for RT15 and RT20.

www.dmstech.co.uk/varleyredtop.htm for full details.

The way the crank current is measured is different from when I bought mine which was over 5 years ago!

Cheapest place I found was Rally Design www.raldes.co.uk
