Rubber Wear

I'm intending to fit the new Toyo Proxes T1-R to the rear end of my Griff this week. Has anyone tried them yet?

I have to phone around but whats the wallet damage for a fit/balance service? Thanks

Fitted Toyo,s to my 500 and they seem great.£375.00 for a set also didn,t seem to bad either.

Not tried the Rs yet, but I have the older T1-S on on my Scoob. I've been very pleased with them so far.

I bought them from mytyres.net for £280 for 4 and had them fitted locally for £25 or so. (They're 215 40 R17 for reference)

I've read a review ( somewhere ) and they're supposed to be good, a definite improvement on the S. I've got T1-S on my Griff - very impressed (but I did have diabolical tyres on it before). Mytyres gets my vote as well - cheap and very quick delivery.

Could'nt get the T1-R's as the size I needed is'nt yet available, so I've settled for the T1-S all round.

Best quote was £332 inc balance/valves/ fit / vat, so come this thursday it's goodbye to the old Bridgestones SO1 and hello new rubber.

I trust your familiar with the process of "running in" these tyres, or whatever it's called? In other words, a gentle warming up of the tyres for the first couple of hundred miles or so will help them set and thus prolong their life and offer more grip.

My Toyos certainly felt a bit odd when first fitted but have since proved their worth and are just as good as the S02's that were on it before!

I noticed a big improvement in ride comfort after fitting these tyres to our Griff. Grip isn't bad either.

Hi Phil, I 'm getting my tyres from 'Treadfirst' located in the main road Diss, Norfolk. (01379 651976)

Good price eh! Not sure if they are a national company or just an indie.

Thanks for tips on the running of these tyres Chris and Mrmaggit. One thing can you advise me please tyre pressures for these tyres on my 4.3. Many thanks

Erm, only on stage is it permitted to wear rubber, or if you are a member of the T*** Party.

Me wear rubber, far to hot my dear, far to hot.
