The drivers side is a joke. Due to the long length of the buckle its fastened halfway up my gut. The passenger side is fine though. Question is what car are these common with? I bought what i thought looked like the right one but its not the same. Has anyone got a short buckle going spare?

It seems standard in the early cars to have one short and one long buckle part Russell. Mine did and when I was researching this I found it quite common.

Anybody considering putting Cerbera seats into their Griff who has the mismatched pair should bite your hand off for the long one and do you a swap. They'll need a pair of long ones to make the buckle ends come up past the bolster, which the shorter one won't.

Securon sell replacements. You'll just need to do some measuring of the one you want.

I have this problem in my pre-cat too. Being tall the buckle cuts into my stomach when I brake hard and to be honest I think it's surely unsafe.

You must be right, I'm sure they come directly from another car and if we could find it they would be pence from a scrappy.

Not Ford parts it seems. Anyone else have any clues what they could be from?

I have two short ones on my car at the moment, but hanker after longer ones again. The short ones are a pain to get in and out of latch. This may be due to having cerb seats.
If you wanted to swap your long ones for my short ones, I would be happy to.

Hi, my 4.3 Precat also has the 'one long & one short' setup, which I have always disliked, surely it puts the belt in the wrong place and it's uncomfortable.

I would like to find another short one, maybe as a swap for a long one?

The short one looks similar to those in a wedge, which I believe are from a Pugeot 405.
