So today was THE only day of British summer, done a great trip to York on some nice quiet b roads and the surrounding area smile
Developed a tapping noise at very low speed, I.e. parking and found the pass front drop link is shot so decided to order Steve heath ones, only his site states closed as a result of uni work he will be doing. Anyone know if there is an alternative? Or am I back to stock replacement?

Cheers for any pointers.

Thanks guys, is it a big job? Got to replace some exhaust bolts so thinking might have a go.

Piece of cake. Line them up with car on a ramp or with the hubs on stands to ensure ARB in level before setting lengths on the drop links!

Not a big job at all.

I've had the Leven drop links on my car for nearly two years and they have been perfect.

They are very robust in construction when compared with others, and they made a very noticeable improvement to the handling on my car when I fitted them as a replacements to my old worn out Triumph TR6 type that TVR fitted as standard.

Essentially the Leven links allow the anti roll bar to start doing it's job for the first time.

All this equates to less roll in bends & better handling, but it also means you will be putting more load through the rear wishbone mounting plate.

The result will likely be that the plate will crack yikes

Actually it's not a big deal, it's a well known issue that has been solved by a few TVR specialist producing a much stronger ARB mounting plate for the rear wishbones.

Even TVR fitted stronger plates to the last run of Chimaeras so they knew about the problem too.

Here's an example of the stronger plate:

I recommend you have the stronger ones welding to the wishbones at the same time you fit the Leven links.

After that it's just vastly improved handling all the way.

Here are some examples of cracked plates so you know what to expect and how to sort it before it becomes an issue.

James great to meet you at the classic. I didn't see you again after I was rushing to put my tent up before it rained ... Would have been great to have chatted some more. Hope you had a good classic.

Thanks for all the pointers, seems I may be lucky for a change as my 97 seems to have the up rated rear mounts! smile
