For anyone with wierd top end noises

Just changed the exhaust gaskets after one of mine blew. I can't believe how quiet the engine is now. I had checked that all of my manifold bolts were tight but still had various ticking / tappety type noises, i guess even small leaks can sound quite loud!

Don't forget to re-check the bolts after a couple of weeks though wink

Also if you fit a set of Nord-lok washers under the bolt head that fixes this issue for good

I have ARP stainless bolts, what is specific about Nordlocks? are they a type of anti rattle washer? I now have sandwich type gaskets with fire rings (as recommended by V8 developments) these have replaced the wire mesh cored type composite? gaskets.

It is a bit of a pain that to get to all of the bolts properly you need to take the anti roll bar, exhaust and starter motor off! I guess that is why many come loose and there are so many gasket problems!
