Had a great run from the midlands up to Northumberland at the weekend, and was absoloutely gobsmacked to get 29.6mpg personally I don't see the point of buying a car like the Griffith and then worrying about economy but I wasn't holding back when the roads got good (I recommend the A68 to anyone)

The lowest that I have ever got was 18MPG but that was over mountain roads in the Pyranees.

Is my car particularly frugal? What do other people get?

I've had that sort of consumption when on a reasonably long m'way trip and in a cruise mode - Ok some occasional bits of fun as well, but a more general sort of consumption on a decent trip - say Scotland with a bit of m'way to get there then plenty of nice roads and I get around 24/25 so its not unreasonable.
Being a bit more enthusiastic and it does drop though ....;)

In my experience 25+ is quite normal on a run, if you venture up to Northumbertland again let me know, the A68 is OK but Northumberland has several spectacular driving roads rather more interesting than the 68 and most of them empty.

I have 30 mpg and traveled from Preston to East Grinstead on 1 tank of fuel during the fuel strikes quite a few years ago.. did not dare boot it on empty roads as no garages had fuel. Had to wait 1/2 a day in Preston to get fuel frown

Being sad I have a spread sheet.

Started out with 32mpg for the first couple of tanks (I picked it up and drive home in a monsoon)

Now sitting at 17. Average. Lowest was 12 for a tank. I was happy with that.

I've only told the oh about the first couple of tanks ;-)

Mine was averaging 17MPG, and then had the Lambda sensors changed. 28MPG to Le Mans and back.

Yep, up to 32mpg on a long cruise at a steady 80 or so (seems to sit happily at around 3,000rpm in 5th). Around 18mpg booting it around the twisties. Seems to have a very heavy thirst before she's warmed up. So lots of short runs are not good if we are talking MPG but track use is worse - about 8mpg, but good fun!
