Im changing my manifolds on my Griffith 500 to precatless ones with non-reverse cones, on removal of the first manifold i've noticed that the precat is very loose inside the pipe. It will slide down and hit the lamda sensor when it is turned upright also the precat has a lamda shaped hole in it.
Is this normal i was thinking the cat should be solid in the pipe?
Could this be the reason of my mystery misfiring cutting out/ early rev limiter problem that has been with me for over a year?
also does anyone know how to get the lamda sensor out of the manifold without damaging it.

My precats had done exactly the same and had the witness mark from the lambda bashing.
I just firked them out with a big screwdriver and then got the dyson in the manifold!!!
mine used to foul plugs fairly quickly but i noticed that the pre cats were pretty blocked.
Its now seems to be running a lot better.
As for the specialist tool for the lambda, i got an old deep socket and ground the side out with an angle grinder for the sensor wires and then undid it with a pair of mole grips on the socket. I got a cheap socket set on a rail for £7(ooohhhh quality
) at a local sunday market.
Dont forget to give the sensors a clean with brake or carb cleaner before they go back.
Ohh and the precats should be a snug fit in the manifold so they are
ed !!!!!
