Car won't start....have tried using a power pack which is fully charged up and the car voltometer reads 13, ignition lights lights come on and interior light. When key is turned I can hear the starter motor briefely for just a second. A bit stumped really? Recently serviced by D Batty so will give him a call on Monday but any help appreciated.

Cheers

Sounds like the starter motor has jammed. Give the car a rock back and forth while in gear or give the motor a whack with a broom handle.

Cheers, will give it a go. If it is the starter motor is that something that needs seeing to then so it doesn't happen again?

Yes, you can take the starter motor off and check the pinion gear is clean. Its pretty hard to access without a set of ramps or a pit though.

Easy way is to get a jump lead from engine to chassis . If that works and it starts then there is a fault in engine/ earth lead. It is usually fitted from bellhousing to the chassis somewhere and looks like a wide braided cable. looking at your profile it is of an age where it could need replacing. If this is all foreign to you give me a call 01928 719267 Steve Reid
