I have been offered this power steering rack which I am told (by two different people) is for a Griff or Chimaera. However,I have only seen ones which are all aluminium, not with a steel centre section like this. The rack width (ball joint to ball joint) and the mounting hole centres are the same as the aluminium rack and also it is the same 2.1 turns lock to lock.

Anyone know anything about this type of rack or what year/model it was used on? Advice will be appreciated.

I've never seen one made out of scaffolding bar before.

Not sure. My Griff 500 PAS doesn't have the mountings like that there is a clamp that goes over the top with poly bush inserts. I did see a picture on the wedge forum that seemed to have similar mountings. Might be worth asking there.

Thanks for the repy but I think the straps and polybush inserts are for the anti-roll bar? I stand to be corrected.

Thanks everyone for the advice and info. about my 'scaffold' steering rack. Consensus of opinion is that it's from a Griff/Chim up to '94 ish. I spoke with Roger Clinton at Kiley Clinton (very helpful guy) and he said not to worry about using it as all TVR racks are c**p anyway!
