Looking at a House, and for that need a little more pocket money, hence am toying with the idea of selling...

The AJP Griffith, I think could be one of the long term classified ads should I put it there? What do you think?

Cheers

PH classifieds IMO are better for selling performance motors than Autotrader. Car and classic are always worth a look.

I guess if you really need the funds then you have to sell but it will not sell as easily in September as it might in April. Moreover your car will require a certain type of buyer and there are far more people looking for a standard car. So if you have to sell then I think you will need to drop the price to move it quickly.
But then again you only need one buyer....

As it happens, unless I have a windfall over the next 6 months, it looks like I may have to sell mine to free up some cash but I will wait until next April before I advertise it.

What about putting it out to someone like James Agger / Racing Green to sell on your behalf? Might get a quicker sale on a broker type deal?

Or see if Clive wants it back.......

Real shame, looks a fantastic car but one for an enthusiast. Hope things look up and you can keep.

Hi,

I have just sold my Griffith through Pistonheads. I had it advertised on both Pistonheads and the TVR car club website and also in Sprint magazine but it only seemed to appear for one month only for some strange reason. Every single enquiry I had came via Pistonheads with absolutely nothing coming via the TVRCC website or generated from Sprint magazine.

My advice is to advertise it on P/H. I had enquiries from the UK and also a lot from the continent.

Good luck

Cheers

Marty

I think the reason for that is that the majority of people wait until they actually own a TVR before they join the club.

Griffs leaving the country bound for Russia and Germany byebye ...... no wonder I rarely see another one on the road in the UK frown . Still the fewer over here increases their rarity and perhaps their value cool .

I think this thread shows how massively undervalued the Griff in particular is.

And what high esteem they are held in across Europe.

soapbox
Hopefully in the not too distant future we can shake off the ridiculous 'unreliable' tag foisted on the TVR brand by those 3 pillocks who shall remain nameless yet who also constantly bemoan the demise of the British car industry, and TVRs will regain their true market value.

Oh, and congrats on the quick sale C15 - though its a sad day to be losing that car from the UK and to think we will probably never see it again weeping

Russia ..... Trajic !

At this rate it looks like ime gonna be the only Nut still Hooning / driving / breaking down ( on the M25 , A130 etc etc ) in a Griff in Britain......

But hey......Excellent news .... Values hopefully will rapidly rise along with knowing that ime not going to see another one on the rd. I have lost count this year of the number of people who have asked me what my make my Griff is !!

My ex wife cleaned me out in 07 , so I don't have the worry / stress of needing the cash to buy another house .

Thank Gould I managed to buy ( my second one , many thanks Steve Heath for patiently waiting while I sold the RS2000 ) in April 10 as no way would I be in a position to Ever afford one now.
The beast has cost me Far more in repairs this year than I was hoping , but some of this was needed when i bought her , but i put it off .
This year i have fitted a new battery , 2 Top wishbones, 2 top ball joints, interior door release cable, a Recon Alternator , Oil and Filter, Tax , Mot and the rear window flew out somewhere on the A13 one wet evening , I just glimpsed it in the rear view mirror disappearing down the rd.......The whole roof needs replacing really , but @ over £600 quid it's going to have to wait .

Last Thursday she was transport to Upminster Crematorium for my best pals funeral ,( RIP Simon " Rio Rodeo " Jones , age just 45 , You made me laugh until it hurt....ile never ever Forget you mate )
That Griff has given me so many superb drives this year , inc saturday and sunday morn blasts down to The War and Peace show , some fab drives up and down the A21 to Bodiam , the disbeleif on that Blue Scooby drivers face .....I just couldn't imagine life without the Griff.......

Sorry to learn of your loss...

The AJP Griff Clive made is something special.. but somehow still not quick enough... It hated driving slowly too...

You have done well to sell it so quickly, many many are taking alot longer to sell, even the ones at the cheaper end of the market.

Thanks C15 .
I do understand re your need to sell it and also think you were lucky to sell in the current dire climate here . It may well have taken a long time to find a British buyer .

Good luck with your house purchase , but bet you will be back again with another Griff !

This was my second Griffith, but 4th TVR, so never say never...
