ok with the rad out, and clearing out what looks like a half a beach of shingle from the tray under the nose cone... I've decided to give under the bonnet a bit of a clean up/freshen up...

thaught would give the matt black paint on the inner wings a quick once over ... but then started worrying about heat etc...... what paint have people used here to good effect ??

Ordinary satin not matt aerosol spray paint does the job. Its all in the prep work!

You'll want to key the old paint so just roughen it up with a scouring pad.
Get some pre-paint, maybe a friendly bodyshop will let you have a jam jar full. This will remove the dust and any remaining oils then you're ready to paint.

Seconded. The unfinished fibreglass bits just need a clean and spray over. The smooth areas take a lot more time, as often they weren't done that well from new. Worth putting the effort on though.

mentioned to a bloke at work... he's got shed loads of por15 left (chassis) and marine wash for degreasing (caterham boy not a fan of TVR's).. so I'll take this and use..

got a few areas of bare glass to paint (knocked when engine out n rebuilt), a few areas through to white (undercoat???) where bonnet roller are.. and the rest is just dirty black
