What's that little yellow light?
Discussion
There's a yellow LED towards the bottom of the dash, between the speedo and tacho. I've no idea what it indicates - never taken much notice of it. But just recently, it's started coming on immediately after starting. It stays on during the first few minutes driving, then flickers for a short while before going off and staying off. I've checked the oil and fluids - everything fine. Oil pressure is solid and voltmeter steady at 14V.
I've scoured my Steve Heath bible but can't find any reference to it. Unfortunately I can't find my original owners handbook which no doubt would mention it.
Anyone know what it's trying to tell me? It's a very early (1994) 500 by the way.

It's an oil pressure warning light. It's definitely worth getting it checked out. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will comment, but it could be an electrical problem causing it to illuminate (bad earth?) or it could be a real indication while you have an inaccurate gauge. I have a copy of my manual on pdf, pm me if you need it.

Hi
It runs off a different sensor
If you remove drivers front wheel
Look thru the wheel arch to filter, just behind is a circle with cicrclip ( this is the oil pressure relief valve) follow vertically up the casting from the cicrclip approx 10-15cm and there is a sensor kind of behind the alternator ,this is the sender for the yellow led .
The sender for the gauge is 3-4cm circular object screwed into the front of the engine in the centre ,underneath.
Hope this makes sense , and helps,
Belchy
