OK,
So I have had my griff (500) for 2 months and I am still finding buttons that I don't know what they do!

Under the dash to the left of the steering wheel there is a big black push button. It doesn't seem to stay in or toggle, it just pushes and releases.

I have tried aimlessly pushing it and nothing seems to happen. Anyone got any ideas?

Although I gather some people have this switch wired as a fan override instead...

...and if you don't use it very often, when you turn the lights off one night to see what difference it makes you'll find the switch sticks and you can't get them back on again

Yes, I have this button. It turns the cooling fans on, so if you are in traffic you can have the fans on as long as you like.

The reason nothing happened when you tried the button is because you probably didn't have the ignition on.

I don't have a button in this position, or a switch, so its one thing less to worry abut not functioning properly.
I do owever seem to have a second fan speed control, for the cabin, to the lower right of the steering colum.

My manual also shows this. Someone must have rewired mine as catretriever said.

I see that old64er and myself are in the same business.
Same job same car.

Hi, old64er. Mostly building sites ie: new work but also do domestic work, lots of extensions and some restrips. Been doing it now since I left school, let's say more than a year ago.
