Heavy clutch

A while ago I replaced the clutch and the slave cylinder. At the time I was told the original cylinder was discontinued but replaced by the one I was supplied with. I think the original was Locheed 99364 but don’t know what the one I fitted was except it was a different number. I remember discussions, possibly on here about the bore being different resulting in a heaver pedal. There was also talk about someone remaking the original part.

Anybody got the definitive story on what is what with the correct part nos ? the master cylinder although not leaking yet has started making noises indicating perhaps it is feeling the strain a bit so I think it may be time to replace or rebuild both of them.

I too replaced the slave with a non original part from tvr power i believe as I was under the impression the original was no longer available, pedal feel did indeed become heavier but not excessively so, or at least I've become used to it but when I took the car to David Geralds for a service the commented that they could have supplied a unit that matched the original exactly so who knows.
