Have a fault on my speedo. Firstly it won't register a speed until you first hit 30 mph, after that it will register as low as you like. Secondly at say 70 mph according to the speedo you're doing anything between 60 and 80 (sometimes more). Is this the transducer playing up or a fault with the speedo itself ? Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and what the solution was.

Mine doesn't register below 15-20mph but is fine above that.

Not really looked into it as of yet so I would also be interested in any answers.

When I first got my Griff the speedo would display some very strange readings.
Turned out to be a loose earth on the front of transmission tunnel (under the window switches/heater control panel).
Only found it when replacing my dash, not even finger tight.

If not the earthing, it could be the speed sensor on the axle of late cars or the gearbox sensor on early cars. It's a pig of a job to check and fix.

It's a 2000 so I'm guessing that would make it the later type

More than likely the sensor, as it was on mine.

Steve. I can post you on sensor fix. If you are a TVRCC member I can do it direct.

Cheers Eddie. I'm not a member, though maybe I should be. What details do you need from me to post the fix ?
