Guys,

Thought I would share a few images, finally got the new seat belts installed - naturally to match the trim which was done earlier in the year. Realise it may not be everybody's 'cup of tea'. Just a matter of changing the door cards next year for the leather rather than the 1995 fake stuff which was originally installed.

Looks nice to me, I kind of agree with the headrests - looks a little 'British Rail' - but I guess they're removable.

I like the stitching on the floor mats - where did you have that done?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments - I did laugh at the above comment by Jeboa and truth be known, agree with his way of thinking, I do like the additional headrest for the 'looks' - a former Aston Martin idea carried forward and asked D&C to carry out - Having not done this before and a limited time to complete the car this at the time this was the best solution by D&C. But like some of you guys mention, not entirely happy with the white straps and further more in white. However, I did not want the original head rests spoilt in any way with buttons or buckles. The 'white' elastic has to go! I have a few options:
1. To get the elastic in the same colour match as the leather.
2. To go with burgundy colour elastic to match the piping or
3. Go with the originally elastic 'hidden' in matching leather straps/covers. At the moment tending to go for the third option.
But like you say, agree it has to change!

The belts were done by FDTS Ltd. ask for Sue Taylor 01932 342043
Car mats were done by D&C Trim with involvement from Autostyle who stamped/stitched the TVR logo into the mats - Autostyle 01908 222113
Alloy steering wheel swop thanks to '7 TVR'
Refurbished wood trim thanks to James of TVR MADS
The interior Trimming was done by D&C Trim Blackpool Dave - 07772 856695
New Meta Alarm system installed last month by the one and only Carl Baker 0772 072 3407
Car regular service and maintenance by Neil Garner 01666 577449

The Griff has had a considerable make over this year and with the help from the above has made it a great car in terms of performance and looks. A 1500 mile trip to France and back last month without fault - Thanks to Neil and his team for keeping the car reliable - who says TVRs are NOT reliable! Rubbish!. During Neil Garner's Open Day last Easter it achieved figures of nearly 310bhp on the North London Dyno rolling road (07868 702440) - described as the best Griff of the day for the best amount of torque - Had no idea at the time, so was really pleased with the outcome of the day.

As said, each to their own with the bits and bobs....
Just personalising the Griff with the alloy 500 sign from Back Home Performance of Blackpool! (01253 766085)
As for the 'missing' alloy pieces on the window switches, they had to come off as they are NOT alloy - just my own personal take!
The TVR embossing on the gear stick was a Richbrook knob (no longer available in the TVR format) from when I had the S3 - again just personalising the car and making it 'slightly' different from the normal alloy knob.

The car is planned to go back to Blackpool next winter/spring for more trimming by D &C Trim, namely on the door cars and a front end respray by S&D.

Thereafter, it should be near complete and a fine running example which I am proud to own

Long Live The Griff!

Regards
P

PS As I am the organiser of this year's Neil Garner's Open Day, we are planning to hold another one next Easter, where my car will be on show with the various traders but await confirmation for the approved date of Easter Saturday, (SN16 9SH) due to Neil's involvement with the Britcar Championships. As soon as this is confirmed I will post in the general TVR forum. For those of you who didn't come this year we had a total of 130 TVRs plus another 20 Lambos, Fezzas and Vipers to name a few! Looking so far to move up from a dozen TVR specialists/traders to near 20 TVR trade stands next year including the two from Blackpool!

Makes my interior feel even more shabby!

Couldn't you just dye the elastic to match the cream? probably only cost a tenner?

Yes... I guess that could be the fourth option, but still favour the third option if it is done correctly!

Point taken... But as said, each to their own

Having it in black, is just what I am steering away from!!! All the black bits have or will be gone!!! Including the remaining black sun visors!!! Burgundy, here we come!

As said, that's the beauty of TVR, each and every one is different. Just don't the same 'mass produced' car!

Candy? Not the first time that has been mentioned!

OOI why do you feel the need for extra headrest padding?

p.s. I like the colour coded straps, might see if I can get some butterscotch coloured ones hehe

As said, pure and simple... personal stamp, has no real added comfort factor, but with the extra piping, simply like the idea and looks!
