Discussion
This. Cheap upgrade and twice as effective as the weedy originals.

^^ highly recommended^^
I still have the unvented standard rears on, but the 888/887 up front and the difference is massive. I've done track days with both set-ups for comparisons.
I couldn't give an F about unsprung weight compromises - this is by far the best mod I've done to my Chim 400.

..or you could try these, more expensive than the Ford upgrade but cheaper than the Hi-specs:

Do you have the standard flexi hoses on your car? I had a similar problem some time ago, after having the callipers refurbished it turned out to be a hose had partly blocked due o the age !! replaced with braded hoses now ,
Yea all standard. I will probably go for braided lines if I go for an upgrade as well. anonymous said:

Forgot to say after fitting the 887 888 calipers (kit from hansal) i then managed to get some cossy hubs for the rears then upgraded from the perthetic 4l rear brakes to 500 spec .Calipers and carriers were purchased new from fleabay for very little money ,think the rear vented discs are escort cosworth ..The setup is fatastic ..Both front and rear complete up grade, replacement cost me around £400 ..so i have new brakes .anonymous said:

I had there so called updated brakes fitted front and rear,Nearly killed me and my daughter,
Took them to court more than once, I took a professor who deemed their brakes dangerous and illegal,
The rear handbrake worked of the same fluid for the hand brake & rear brakes, hense the bodied hand brake failed they had fitted hence no brakes on car,,,, BE Warned,
They had to refund my money by court order then took months and month to pay, so took them back to court again,

The bloke and wife who runs the firm are complete liars, stood on court and llide through there teeth,
The court case cost me a fortune but that wasn't the reason I done it,
I took a professor in engineering with me who cost me other £500' but as I say the money wasn't the reason.
Their brakes are substandard ,
The original post and here was removed because of name and shaming rules,
I've been in the TVR owners club for years now and thought most people remember this going on,
Rear brakes give up the will to life after about 500 miles on the rear leaking out all the fluid hence no brakes.
