Can anyone tell me the spark plug type for a 4.0 pre-cat? Thanks in advance!

Before you pronounce them as no good, if the "5" grade plugs are running a light brown, leave them be. A lot of TVR plugs Ive seen seem to run pretty black as they are too cold, especially if running round town a lot (a 7 is a colder running plug than a 5). Only if they are white- then try a colder plug. The idea is you want a trace of carbon brown to show the plug is not overheating (Then it goes white as all the carbon burns off), or if its sooty black there is to much carbon as its not being burnt off enough.

Hmmm, when I first checked them they were a tan/brown colour. After a HGF and loads of short (20 yard) journeys they've gone sooty. I'll replace them with 5's as the engine goes back together and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice!
