Please forgive me...... As there hasn't been much traffic on the Griff forum over the last week or so, lots of people on hols etc.......... I wandered.

I logged on to the Chimp Forum for the first ever time.............................. what sort of penance will I have to do??

Soak fingers in bleach??
Wear a hair jacket for a month??
Will I need to buy a set of golf clubs??

No mate, that's about 2 months ago. It's completely changed since then, it now looks like a real one.. Think there's still probs with fotango, I'm sure the link I eventually put in is good.

The camera never lies??? Well it does really, paint job is no where near as good as it looks above, crazes on the bonnet as it isn't painted yet. But I will get round to that.

I 've got a bag load of other small probs that are stopping me visiting the MOT man, sorted the horn tonight, speedo doesn't work and the reverse lights are permanently on, but an hour on someones ramps should sort that, wipers not working but they did last week??!!?? ..........can't be long now

Mmmm......... thats food for thought, I'm going to make a wire link from the steering column bolt earth to a lug 1/3rd of the way down the steering column, clean up and greese the lug first - the steering column bolt that has the earth wire connected is insulated from the steering column via an aluminium spacer (maybe I've lost some washer that connects them all together).

Isn't aluminium normally a conductor? (I'll get me coat)

That's Andre Previn !

Not sure, but I'll test this new fangled theory tonight - might have re-write a few physics books.

Just had a google and Aluminum is a conductor - I've obviously got that very rare grade that doesn't.

Aluminium is a conductor, but the surface corrosion which forms on it isn't.

OK..So a good sanding of the ally washer, steel washer and check the crip connection on the wire should see my horn continuing to work without the mod (then I might fit the mod - wire between the above earth and steering column lug - can't hurt it).... and if I'm really lucky the wipers might start up again.
