What happened to this car.......?
Discussion
Seems a bit wierd to me. Someone has posted what seems to be almost all of a Griffith...IN PIECES...on Ebay.
I first saw this about 4 weeks ago (mainly because they came up in a local search) - some parts have already gone (engine, bodyshell, doors, etc.) - I could've sworn I saw the bodyshell on a trailer at Sportmotive a couple of weeks ago (but could be massively wrong).
When all the parts were first on there, the total cost was close to that of a (cheap) 2nd hand Grif - I hope this doesn't become a trend!!!

In the Caterham world there's a number of people who've decided to break there cars and sell the individual components, and we're not talking wrecks here we're talking highly specced and modified older models where the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole. So yes I guess this could become a trend....
Yes we have it, rescued it from the breaker who broke up a perfectly useable and good condition car for a fraction of its value as a complete car. We will be rebuilding it next year on our new chassis with an LS3.
When did you see it Martin? or did you just hear on the grapevine that we had it?

Yes Rob it was very odd why it had been broken and a very dubious "breaker" but I bought the shell knowing I'd be able to identify it so am currently trying to find out who owned it to get the full story hence my other thread. Their story was there were faults with the engine which is why it was broken, so what experience did you have? can you email me, ian@sportmotive.com
Well judging from what's going on above it might not be theirs to sell.

I think I know this 'dubious' breaker, if it's who I think it is then they were a very well respected Aston Martin second hand parts dealer who recently backed off their business to an on-line presence only. sarbec said:

Good luck with that, I had a hell of a job getting my money back from Paypal after I was scammed on an ipod purchase. It was even Ebay or Paypal (can't remember which) that advised me that I had probably been scammed! They made it very difficult indeed, but we did get there in the end.I have been on the phone to the seller of the parts, and yes he has removed all remaining parts for sale from the car, its a complicated story and at the moment i am giving the seller the benefit of the doubt, i have been in contact with ebay and you have upto 45 days from date of sale to claim a refund, however i cant see this being resolved that quickly,
