Can anyone advise how to remove the 'whale tail' centre armrest on a Griff please? I'm contemplating replacing the carpets and that's the only interior bit I haven't figured out how to remove.

Thanks in advance!

Slacken the handbrake right off, two bolts at the rear underneath the tail piece then pull backwards and upwards to remove.

There are 4 bolts at the rear - 2 per side.

It doesn't matter whether it's two or four bolts because if he's going to remove the carpet anyway it's easy to peal back the carpet to reveal the bracket the the four bolts attach to and then remove the single self tapping screw which secures each bracket. I found that to be a lot easier than using a small spanner to undo the four nuts/bolts.

i find i can pull the handbrake cable out of its slot, not the adjustor side, but the other side of the diff....much easier than twiddling the adjustor for 5 mins.

you may need to give it a BIG pull back.. Mine was stuck on the underside of the dash (just leather to leather) but I was sure it had more bolts in it... until I went for it wink.. came out with a bang!!
