Just a quick question. Replacing the rear bushes on the suspension (just with the 'normal' bushes)- looks like they were way past their best.

I purchased thrust washers from SC Power, but when I removed the wishbones - there were no thrust washer present. I'm guessing that they have just perished, broken up and dropped off over time - is this usually the case?

As you can see, the centres have pushed out of the bush on some of them - so the rubber is pretty perished.

My '96 Griffith didn't have thrust washers either, I assumed that they were never fitted from new and were an aftermarket addition to provide lateral control to the bushes.

I thought that might be the case - guess it can't hurt to be using them now.

That possibly explains usually why they are missing then as they probably rot/crack and drop out frown

My late 1996 Chim was fitted with standard rubber bushes and thrust washers. Now all rebushed with poly and new washers.

Typical TVR quality control....anything and everything is different from car to car.
