Power Steering issue
Discussion
Due to weather and work commitments I haven't had much chance to use the Griff since the 12K service last Sept.. couple of time I have been out the Steering felt stiff/notchy around the center position but seemed to free up after a few miles.
Yesterday though it was fine while maneuvering out of the garage and then went very heavy as I drove away and didn't get ant better on a short 10 mile run, at which point I decided to return to base in case it failed altogether.
Appears to be ok beyond a qtr turn in either direction to full lock but very heavy around the center position.
Fluid level seems OK, serp belt is as it should be...So question is which is most likely linkage, ball joint, pump or rack?

Thanks for the reply...just as you predicted it's the UJ in wheel arch
Dry as a bone, looks like its been waxoiled (more than once)and had gone stiff.
Some WD40 gave immediate results and the steering is lighter than I ever remember it!
hopefully a good clean and some grease will sort it. Obviously not part of the 12K service less than 500 miles ago.
