So much for them being the next big mover, the ones on PistonHeads seems to be the same ones and none are selling!

What's up?

Most are overpriced and people are getting worried about fuel costs on big engined cars and of course, the eventual start of int rate increases.

I think some are a bit overpriced @ nearly £40,000 and quite a few around £20,000 it will be slow to find customers!

UK lost it's AAA rating. Yes, who cares. Been there before!

Some new performance cars without Griff grunt or good looks are costing 30K. A Griff at half the price is better value and has the waw factor.

I've just bought one of the cars that was on Pistonheads. There are deals to be done if you're a serious buyer.

I have a 2002 500SE black with black, perfect condition 47K miles and best offer from the trade is £19K

Quite surprised

The premium priced cars seem to be the low mileage ones - perhaps on the basis that, if the price increase forecasts prove to be correct, they will be the most in-demand cars.

It would be v interesting to see what a dealer would offer your car at, having only offered you £19k.

No surprise .....do you think they will then knock it back out at that price? Always get a low offer from dealers, just look at fernies for the price that your car could demand, and for all the detractors that say their prices are too high, they obviously shift them close to what they ask for.

It would appear that much of Fernhurst's business is repeat business and overseas. Last week the two that had been prepped, and the one in the process of, were all on their way abroad, something like France, Germany and Japan iirc. As well as some English mug who paid full price!

the majority of the cars seems to be in posession of dealers..also changing hands inbetween the dealers.

the cars are, imo, ALL overpriced....and even french and german potential buyers are refusing to pay such prices.....

i´m wondering how those dealers survive...it looks like they all have a considerable amount of capital? or they live on credit and this speculative bubble will (hopefully) burst soon and all those cars will come back on the market to enthusiasts who drive them, instead putting them in a showroom for financial speculation!!!

Its a good point, but until the bubble bursts and the cars are or not released back into private hands the price currently being asked is the price ......if they continue to sell at dealer inflated levels then that dictates the private sale price to a point.

because the quality and reliability of those cars do not reflect such a price. or lets say it different: there is only an extreme low quantity of cars on the market which would reflect such a price...the majority of the cars advertized by the dealers definately NOT.

there are (sports)cars, with similar engine potential, on the market which are more reliable and built to a much higher quality...anyway...they will never come near the looks of the TVR
Name me a car on the market, second hand, at least 10 years old, that performs anything like a TVR for the price and doesn't need maintaining or faults rectifying.
