Having only owned the car for a year and a bit I really love seeing old photos of the Griff when it was first under development and at the factory. I was hoovering up magazine reviews of the car back then but I missed out on being involved with TVR during the early days of our car.

So can any of you contribute some more photos to the couple I have seen so far.

This one is apparently an early development car at Mallory Park in 1989.

And these two of Griffs in the factory (although by this time we are on to the 500 nose shape) so I'd really love to see some earlier ones.

PS Apologies to those who I have stolen pics from - I don't mean to infringe your ownership.

I cant contribute any pictures but if you can find a copy of Roger Shackletons The Griffith Story book then there is a unique series of pictures of the original dark blue development and show car taken by John Ravenscroft whilst road testing around Blackpool. This car, complete with exterior door handles and fuel filler cap,can also be seen in the first factory brochure shots. It was unfortunately later cut up and destroyed.

It is an early car but the date has to be wrong, apart from the fact that 1989 sounds way too early for anything to been finished, the first prototype wasn't that colour and it also appears to have the production door openers, whereas the first prototype had 'S' door handles.

I think it's the earliest surviving production car featured in the early production car publicity shots. It had the first body out of the mould and was the third that was built to fully running order and was run by Dave Bateman.

It is great to see some historic photos of TVRs back in the day, I do not have any myself but if anyone has some old photos perhaps they would kind enough to post them so it can be enjoyed by all.

Nice to see the tape on the dash.... Even then they already experienced the problem with the f*^#ing lock-mechanism of the glove compartment.... ;-)

And after that you supply them with it for all this years...... You can just love it.

I know its the opposite kind of photo from the thread title, but here is a photo of my old S4 in the factory. This is when the stock was being sold off so that TVR could move out of the manufacturing plant and into an office. Crime of the century if you ask me.
