Evening,

Been keeping an eye out for a Chimaera as they are more sensibly priced than Grifs but this one has caught my eye. Immediately suspicious of cars that look too cheap but it looks fairly tidy for the money.

Might go see it tomorrow but it's a trek so want to make sure nobody on here has previously rolled it!

Don't know the car, but its a green Griff - the connosieurs choice!

Paint looks a little flat (might just be the indoor lighting?) and the hood/interior won't be to everyones taste, personally I quite like it - distinctive but not OTT

Others will doubtless advise on the desirability or otherwise of the 5.0 pre serp.
Chassis would be a deal breaker for me if it was rough. The car is not silly cheap, so I would expect a good solid example given that it is slightly unusual.

Dangerous travelling a long way to see a Griff - too much time to justify walking away! Don 't let the seller start it up untily you've checked the chassis - all doubts evaporate when you hear that engine! laugh

Definitely worth a look I'd say.

not a car known to many (or any??) on PH

controversially I will say check engine and then chassis, whilst many will say chassis first (personally £1600 to replace out riggers is cheaper then engine rebuild)

Yeah, but if the engine goes bang you get to put something faster in it... smile

Obviously didn't sell. The owners name is still the same as is the location. Lots more info on the ebay link. Looks reasonable to me if both engine and chassis check out as OK.

Why not get Rod Ingelby to have a look at it for you?

My advice would be to get the car outside and take some new photos. The paint looks very strange/flat in the photos.

Yeah, that does happen.... biggrin Fortunately I'd checked the chassis before the seller started my Griff and my wallet mysteriously emptied itself.
