Warranty expired. Worth getting another?

My warranty expired on my 1998 Griff 500 on Tuesday. I have never had to use it in the 15 months of ownership but was wondering is it worth renewing?
How many Griff owners on here run their cars with or without a warranty. Might be interesting to know and anybody know of good ones. I was with Warranty Holdings before and we all know what happened to them.

'98 S griff, bought with 2 year extended warranty in March 2001.

1st year the warranty saved me a good deal - £1500 - maybe but didn't cover some stuff such as shock failure - it covered one side but not other (dealer told me they had to be changed in axle pairs)as it hadn't failed; starter motor it covered twice, but second time not the extended labour as the bolts had welded themselves in. Also covered rusted wishbone (lower) on front. All in all I think the first year cost me about £700 in repairs not covered by the warranty.

2nd year of ownership, only cost was rusted wishbone -upper this time - out of warranty.

Now 6 months into 3rd year of ownership and have not renewed warranty - at the age the car is I think the exclusions to the warranty problem make it not worth while. Do however wish that my cylinder head exhaust port fracture had occurred whilst under warranty, as that would have saved me about £ 800.

At my last service, Austec suggested that an annual budget of £1000 pa + tyres should be a reasonable expectation to run a griff of that age for 6000 miles.

I don't intend to buy a warranty at the moment.

I bought one the 1st year of 500 ownership & it just about covered it's price, no more. IIRC the policy was £400 (5 year ago)

Warranty expired start of this month, spent the premium on new stuff, roll cage this week, rolling road and tuning to come shortly.

might be worth looking at the AA one, I've just got £1K cover (3 claims per yr max) for £99. I've not tried to claim yet but with a Tuscan I thought it was worth the gamble (it covers wear and tear!)

when my policy expired i renewed twice @ ~£300. waste of good money!
