Wanted to check my throttle pot setting as one of my "to do" jobs. After getting the DVM setup and some sewing pins stuck down the sides of the connector I was getting 0.27V, too low. Undid the two screws on the side of the TPS ready for adjusting it but it would not budge. After removing it I found there was no elongated slot on the TPS allowing it to be moved.

Soon fixed that with the aid of my trusty soldering/melting iron and a file. Not the prettiest job but at least it can be adjusted now. So has anyone else come across this and is there a reason for it?

I think it was the earlier ones that were adjustable with the elongated slots, the later one like yours are supposed to be self calibrating to a certain extent so not needing the slots.

Cant do any harm what you have done though to get it bob on.

As the man says- the 14CUX will self calibrate with a voltage Range 0.085-0.545v throttle closed to 4.2-4.9v throttle open

I'm confused. So why is it always written that you should set the voltage to 0.32-0.34 V if the ECU will self calibrate?

Thats a hangover from the previous generation of ECUs used on the Rover V8 the "13CU" that could not self calibrate, against the more modern 14CUX that can, so the elongation holes have gone. Its possible that the TVR is a little more critical than the Range Rover, as the very last part of the fueling map is done on the throttle position sensor / RPM on the 5ltr motors, as the AFM is maxed out already, so getting that last bit of available voltage swing may have some bearing on the fact- but its really a question you need to ask Mark Adams as I believe this is where the original RPI web site data on calibration comes from.
